Unable to customize entities in "Settings > Customizations."

In D365 (Trial) help (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics/crm-customer-center/create-a-new-entity.aspx)  it says the following for customizing entities:

  1. Make sure that you have the System Administrator or System Customizer security role or equivalent permissions.

     Check your security role

  2. Go to Settings > Customizations.

  3. Choose Customize the System.

  4. ...

However, I only see "Developer Resources"! in step 3. Do not see any other options (i.e. "Customize the System")
Yes, I am the "Global Administrator".

Can anyone help guide me to where I can customize entities?
Thanks

    Hi

Though you are a "Global Administrator" then too you need to assign the roles of "System Administrator" & "System Customizer" to the user in CRM to have access to all the functionality in CRM, and hope fully once you allot the security role you will be able to see the option "Customize the CRM"

    Hi Obby

Go to settings>>Security>>Users>>Select and open your user>>scroll down to Admin tab and change 'Access Mode' to 'Read-write'

    Hi Obby,

As Sumith suggested, you need to assign the System Administrator role to yourself.

    Navigate to: Settings > Security.

    Click Users.

    Open the the user record.

Click on Manage Roles button on the command bar.

Tick the System Administrator role and click OK.

Now you should see the Customize the System option.

    Hi Obby,

In Dynamics 365 which app have you installed for CRM  sales (or)  customer service (or) field services will not enable any customisation even if you are system administrator...Select none of these customisations then only  you can able to see the customize the entity.

Please refer the screenshot below as mentioned :

    Hi Sumith and Nadeeja

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I tried to select (check) roles System Administrator or System Customiser but I get the following popup error message for both:

    Hi obby,

Can you please provide some screenshots of Office 365 Admin User Management area where you have assigned the Dynamics 365 licence, CRM Settings > Security > Users list, and where you select a user and assign roles.

    Pictures provide more information :).

    Cheers,

    Nadeeja

    Hi,

You should login with the user that you used to create trial environment, it should have system administrator in CRM. Global administrator in office365 does not mean that you will have such permissions. If this is the same account and you still cannot assign system admin to the user, you should contact MS support.

    Sathis,

As of September, 2017 your solution worked for me. When creating the trial, select the box "None of these. Don't customize my organization" on the screen asking you to select from:

Sales / Customer Service / Field Service / Project ... / All of these

Microsoft changed the sign-up process for a Dynamics 365 trial, which they seem to do frequently. It looks like something changed "under the hood" causing the Customization to no longer work for a "Sales" trial. None of the other recommendations in this thread worked except this one.

    Thanks!

    Jeff
