How know if a field has been used in an entity.

Greetings;

I inherited a CRM solution that contains custom development. The developer for that application is currently unavailable to answer questions. Therefore I'm doing a GAP analysis for what fields are actually being used or relevant to an specific entity, but I don't know how to recognize if a fields is being used or not.

In an ideal scenario I would have enter to SQL Management studio I would have queried the database to see if X column had data in it. However, because we are using CRM Online solution there is no way for me to do that.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you.

PS. I don't want to delete anything. I just want to be able to see what field the developer used to store information and to include in workflows. For example did he used Address1 for address or did he used ent_Address1.

    If you are talking about fields in a custom entity you should be able select the field and in the ribbon under More Actions select "Show Dependencies".

    There is a plugin in XRMToolbox that offers something similar to what you are requesting.

    Attribute Usage Inspector 1.2017.1.4 MscrmTools Inspect the usage of attributes per entity
