Hi,

In our business we are buying and selling to the same company. Is it possible to have a single vendor/customer account for this company so that we both sale and purchase transactions can be seen at one place.

As we have more than 400+ such cases, it is very difficult to have separate customer and vendor accounts for each one of them. Please guide.

I have the same question (0)

As standard you will need both. To make it easier in terms of creation/mgt. of the data at least you could use power automate if you use the same “No.” on both records.

Transaction wise you could look at using jobs. This allows you to have a central sub ledger for any transaction relating to one reference point - the job no.

I doubt you can escape not making any modifications. Dealt with a few clients that have this relationship. Dealing with your Microsoft partner is advisable so you can get the required consultancy/design

Worth considering this for part of the transaction flow: community.dynamics.com/.../how-to-record-a-payment-from-a-cutomer-directly-to-a-vendor

Hi, in the standard feature of BC, customer and vendor can be the same number, but need to be created twice.

Although it is not an essential solution to the problem, you can do small customization and automatically create a vendor while creating a customer. Of course, different settings also need to be set separately, such as posting groups.

In addition, I think you can also use the same dimension value to manage these customers and vendors.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.
