I have a client that is on Forecaster 7..0.1531.10 (sp2). I was hoping to get them to sp5 but it doesn't seem to upgrade the db. Do I have to go through sp2 hotfix and sp3 before going to sp5? I tried to download sp2 so I can test it but I see that the Microsoft Exchange denies downloading that file. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
S

Jake everything was set correctly. What I noticed is that I had to go into the "demo" company first and upgraded that. Once I did that I was able to go into the live company and it ran the upgrade. Thank you so much for your help!
As long as the new server is higher than Server 2003, SP5 should work. The error you are getting is due to needing to upgrade to Forecaster database. To do that, update a Forecaster full client to SP5 and then start it as a user who is configured as an Administrator in Forecaster. The act of logging in as that user will trigger a prompt to upgrade the database. Be sure to back up the database first. Once the database has been upgraded, the version error should no longer occur.
Jake,
I am actually on a new server which we are trying to move Forecaster. I installed Forecaster with sp5 (direct after Forecaster install) and got the following message:
This database is for use with an older version of the program (version 7.0.1513.10). Contact your administrator to find out when the upgrade to version 7.0.1702.1 will be completed.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Sherry
You should be able to go straight from SP2 to SP5. What specific error is occurring? Is it something about Win32? Note that SP5 will not run on Windows XP or Server 2003 so if you are using those operating systems, the highest you can upgrade to is SP3 HF5.
