Hi There - anyone able to give me some first hand experience of using the multi-company/business unit based consolidation.

I am in the middle of an implementation and I am conrned with the reconciliation process, but my biggest concern is the way that the GL entry is set to zero when the consolidation is run again. Is there a reason why it does not reverse and repost?
I have the same question (0)

Thanks but this does not expain the rationale behind changing the amount of already posted GL entries.

This should be a normal behavior. Instead of reversing entries for what has been consolidated earlier, BC simply offsets the previous values to zero and post the new totals.

I can gather this is normal - and the way it has been done - what I can't decern is the rationale/why?

General ledger entries once posted - the amounts should not be changing - you now have entries that cannot change in the transacting entities and entries that do change in the consol entities.

Surely this would have made more sense for all general ledger entries to work in the same manner?

I wonder if anyone else has any thoughts. I am keep to get real user feedback on usage of this.
