Unable to map certain fields during import to Dynamics 2016

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I am attempting to import a list of Contract Lines into Dynamics 2016. Most of what I am looking for shows up correctly using the import tool.

However, two important values (allotments used and allotments remaining) are not able to be imported because those fields are not selectable during the import (see attached picture). Those fields exist in CRM but do not exist in the drop-down menu to map during the import.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately I don't see workarounds. CRM Platform has limitations and functionality you have to stay with...

I see what you're saying. The problem is we are trying to import these Contract Lines (hundreds) so they do not need to be manually entered. The allotments remaining/used are needed fields. Any other workarounds you can think of to get these imported? Thanks for your help

Unfortunately no, this is not possible. I would suggest you to create custom fields and import that data inside.

Is it possible to mark those fields as available for create/update during importing data and to switch back to the default once the import is complete?

    Hello,

I believe this is related to fact that those attributes are calculated with system and not available for create/update. Here is screenshot from metadata document:
