RootComponents duplicated in Solution.xml and ComponentState=4

Hi community!

I'm facing a strange situation where solution exported contains duplicated rootcomponents in Solution.xml file for some dashboards

If I unpack/repack with SolutionPackager, I got errors about this duplicated items.

So, looking for these dashboards in database, the only specific value I can see is that componentstate = 4

Problem: 4 is not a valid value for ComponentState (source)

Just to avoid the question : no, nothing is inserted/updated directly in database or through not supported method

    Hi Tanguy, Do you know if you are you able to successfully import your solution into a CRM Online instance? Just to rule out being an on premise specific related issue?

    Best Wishes, Raz

    Thank for jumping in Raz!

    The problem is not about importing the solution but being able to unpack and repack it. We are using automated builds to build and import solution and the fact the solution is exported with duplicated root components break this (SolutionPackager cannot repack when duplicated root components exist)

    Does someone can try to export a solution that contains the whole account entity (that should contain the account overview dahsboard - not sure about the exact name) and check the solution.xml file for type = 60? is there a duplicate here?

    Hi Tanguy,

    In CRM 2016 Online I get 2 Nodes;

    </Publisher>

       <RootComponents>

         <RootComponent type="1" schemaName="account" behavior="1" />

         <RootComponent type="60" id="{15915835-b87c-49ec-9ffc-bfac3ac44ef1}" behavior="0" />

         <RootComponent type="60" id="{ed67749c-9b2d-4e84-9c1c-6c95967718fd}" behavior="0" />

       </RootComponents>

    However in CRM 2016 Online with Update 1 I get 1 Node;

    </Publisher>

       <RootComponents>

         <RootComponent type="1" schemaName="account" behavior="1" />

         <RootComponent type="60" id="{15915835-b87c-49ec-9ffc-bfac3ac44ef1}" />

       </RootComponents>

    Do you have Update 1 installed for CRM 2016?

    Hi there,

    We've opened a case with MS and the answer has been to disable the Interactive Experience option. Fortunately we are not using it.

    It's a known issue in CRM 2016 that will be fixed in CRM 2016 Update 2, Microsoft reports. Some more info at: support.microsoft.com/.../3160775

    Regards,

    Juan
