What are the best practices for archiving data in an on-premise environment with Dynamics 365 F&SC?

My client implements Dynamics 365 F&SC in an on-premises environment. They need to archive data for audits and other purposes.

Are there any best practices?

If you know of any or have experience, please let me know!
(The client is also planning to switch to SaaS in the future.)

I appreciate any comments.

Hi,

There is no support or guidance for archiving data in an on-premise environment. There are some scenarios supported for cloud environments. See: Archive data in Dynamics 365 finance and operations apps with Dataverse - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

In case the client is considering moving to the cloud, they can then benefit from the archiving tools available.
