Issue with View Selector in Chart-Only Dashboard Component (Model-Driven App)

Hey community!

I'm not sure if this is the right category/forum, but here we go:

I'm running into a strange issue with the View Selector on a chart-only dashboard component in a model-driven app.

Setup

  • Dashboard component type: Chart Only

  • Table: Opportunities

  • Chart: single chart used across multiple views

  • Goal: use View Selector as a way to switch between ~10 views (each view acts as a filter for the same chart)

The Problem

For one specific set of views, the View Selector does not show them.

If I set the component to Show All Views, I can see almost every view for the table except the ones I actually want to use.

What I tested

To isolate the issue, I tried the following:

  • Views are public system views

  • Views are published

  • Removed all filters from the views → still not selectable

  • Tried using the same views with different charts → same issue

  • Added the chart to another dashboard that already has working view selectors → same issue

  • Copied the views → the copied views also do not appear in the selector

  • Created a new chart from scratch → still cannot select these views

  • Selecting a single view as default works, but enabling View Selector immediately causes the problem

Observations

When Show All Views is enabled:

  • Almost all views appear

  • Only this specific set of views is missing

This makes it look like there is some kind of compatibility or metadata mismatch between the chart selector and those views.

Question

Has anyone encountered a case where specific public views do not appear in the dashboard view selector, even though they:

  • exist

  • are published

  • and other views on the same table work fine?

Any ideas or things I should check next would be appreciated.

    You can verify below points:

    1. If a view contains elements the chart cannot use, it will not appear.
    Common incompatible items include:
    • Linked entities (joins)
    • Outer joins
    • Distinct queries
    • Calculated columns used in filters
    • Aggregations that conflict with the chart grouping
Even if the view works normally, the chart selector silently hides incompatible views.

    2. If the chart groups by a column that the view does not include, the selector may hide it.

    3. Views may disappear if:
    • The user does not have permission to the table columns used in the view.
    App Module Configuration
    • Sometimes views are not included in the model-driven app.
    Check:
App Designer → Table → Views
