I am trying to setup overtime that is fixed for some employees please assist

Hi Julia,
I'm not sure what you mean by 'fixed', but I'll give it a shot. On the Payroll Setup window, there's a checkbox for automatic overtime.
Now, in order for the Dynamics GP module to actual calculate payroll, it bases overtime as any number of hours greater than the number in the box per pay period. So this really only works well if you run 40hrs and pay weekly. I do not know of a way to pick this option per employee, It's an overall module setup. Is this the kind of information you were looking for? If not, please further clarify for us so that we can give you a better answer.
Kind regards,
Leslie
Hi thank you for responding, actually the overtime is a fixed amount not Hrs like $1500.00 for some employees not all of them ,probably i can just create a recurring batch for overtime?
It sounds like you need a separate paycode for this type of pay. If you are wanting to put in a flat dollar amount and not record hours, the paycode should be an "Other" Pay Type. Then, yes, you can create a recurring batch of transactions if you want the same amount paid out each pay period, or edit the recurring batch for any changes.
Just curiously, how are you able to set a fixed overtime vs calculating it as time and a-half for hours over 40? Are these salaried employee's that are just getting a stipend of sorts for overtime? Kind of like a bonus?
HI, a note about recurring batches. If you have HR loaded, I don't think you can have recurring batches.
Hi El
This is how is it for a example employees will be getting 153.4 hrs as hrs in a month as overtime ,so for someone getting $10,000/153.4=$65 per hr +(65*25%=16.25)$81 per hr weekday
for weekend it will be $65*50%=$32.50 plus $65 which will come to $ 97 per hr
So in that regard i am so confused how to map that to GP2015
PLEASE HELP
You will need separate paycodes for the weekday vs the weekend OT, like OTWEEK and OTWKND. Make them Overtime Pay Type, with the pay factor at 1.25 for OTWEEK and pay factor at 1.50 for OTWKND, based on the hourly paycode.

Hi Sher

You may want to check in with your partner if they have expertise available for some payroll setup training... there are a lot of variables to setting this up, more detailed than I can effectively get into with you here. You will end up living with this setup for a long time, and it affects your employees' paychecks, so it's important to analyze exactly the outcome you are looking for before committing the setup. Feel free to message me if I can further assist.
