Business Central 365 V18.5 failing to upgrade to V19.0

Hi

Our Business central 365 SaaS V18.5 has been failing to upgrade to V19.0 since it's release in October 2021. I've been receiving emails from Microsoft every time the upgrade fails. It gets rescheduled again but it fails. Does anybody know the reason? Is Microsoft aware of this issue?

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hi

We had similar issue when we wanted to upgrade from 18 to 18.5. We opened ticket with Microsoft through our partner and send them a copy of their email. They identified the issue and resolved the issue. My suggestion is ask your partner to open the ticket with Microsoft.

    Thanks

Check your extension. Normally the extension is the ones causing it to fail.

If you couldn't find anything, you can contact Microsoft. They will let you know what is causing the issue.

Hi, I think you copy to a new Sandbox, uninstall all PTE, and try to upgrade again. If it still doesn't work, I suggest contacting Microsoft. There are errors that they can only see.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.

I tried uninstalling PTE on sandbox but that didn't work. How do I contact Microsoft directly? my Microsoft partner is not helpful at all as I do not have support contract with them.

    Thanks

Hi, I noticed the following update in BC19.1 released last week, but the Minor Update for the existed SaaS environment has not yet started.

Maybe you can try it after minor update (BC19.1) starts.

    Hi Zhu

It's still failing to upgrade to V19.0. On the admin portal, the version available to upgrade is V19.0. I don't think V18.5 will upgrade straight to V19.1. SaaS is letting me create new sandbox with  V19.1 so my V18.5 has to first upgrade to V19.0 and then it will upgrade to V19.1. I think I need to get in touch with Dynamics 365 Business Central technical dept. to find out why the upgrade is failing. Would anybody have their email or UK contact number?

    Thanks

    Deven

    Hi

I ran to the similar issue. Production failed to upgrade to BC 19. No error regarding any app generated. Brand new Sandbox created from Production upgraded to BC19 without any issue.

I asked our partner to open the ticket with Microsoft and will let you know if I heard anything

I believe it is no way that you can submit ticket with Microsoft directly. But see the below video just to try

Normally the issue will be resulting from a 3rd party app or extension that you have installed. Id suggest that you remove any you dont use and ensure the ones you do use are all updated to the latest versions.

Microsoft will normally mail you the reason for the failure and you can then pick up directly with any 3rd party app provider you are using to fix the issue.

    Thanks

The message I posted was the full message. No mentioning of 3rd party app, coding issue, etc. No extra info at all.

    Hi

I just received the following answer from Microsoft. Seems like the closed upgrade windows until 11/30 and the they will reopen it again. I wish they post such information somewhere that we know in advance.

    From Microsoft:

"Well, based the screenshot you shared me, the situation is that your client had scheduled an upgrade of the environment, which should have been for yesterday or today, the issue is that the upgrade window is currently under maintenance, which caused that the update will not be performed. As I mentioned in my last email, until Tuesday 30th the upgrade window will be available again, then until that date you can schedule the upgrade. So, answering your question, Yes it will fix the issue."
