We have 3 companies in Great Plains, all using the same Chart of Accounts.

I need to create FRx report listing balances at the end of the month on certain balance sheet with columns for each company next to each other.

Could you please provide detailed step by step instruction on how to do so?

    1.  If you have your balance sheet row all setup your are halfway there.

    2.  Create a tree:  First line is Company:  @ANY, Unit Code:  Combined, Title/Description:  Combined

Second Line:  Use the drop down to choose your company, then name the Unit Code and name the Title/Description, then put in your account mask (&&&&-???-???-??) Hooks are your Main Account and ?? are all your segments

Third Line:  Repeat for next company

    FourthLine:  Repeat for last company

Make sure that the first line has no account mask.

    3.  Create your column setup:

Create your description column, then do your Balance sheet column three times across or 4 if you want to show the consolidated amount.

Then go to the first column that is GL/YTD and in the Reporting Unit drill down to the tree and pick up either the conolidated or your company line.  Do that for each row.  In the header you can tell it which company based on which branch of the tree you chose.

    That should do it.

    Now create the report:

    1.  Choose your row with the BS accounts

    2.  Choose your column you just created

    3.  Choose the tree you just created.

    Run your report.

Also, great blog to have in your back pocket at all times.

http://www.frxbuzz.com/  Jan helped me a whole lot over the years with all her suggestions.
