How to know which sales orders can be shipped?

Dear Business central community,

We started recently with BC, and are recording more and more sales orders into the system. My question is quite simple:

How can I know which Sales order can be pushed to the warehouse for preparation? (I mean all parts are available in stock)

At the time of recording the parts might not be in stock.

We are currently opening regularly opening the Sales Order one by one, and checking on each line if the item is available. This is really time consumming for our internal sales force.

Did I miss asomething?

Thank to all for your support

Sincerely

Jerome

I made a Canvas App that tells when orders are ready for pickup. Of course, it has a lot of logic built into it, but it's a really good tool for warehouse staff and other order handlers.

A good example of how Power Platform technologies can extend existing D365 ERP

    Thank you so much.

I built an excel file using Webservices as well, but it is a bit slow to refresh.

For sure I will contact you

    Thanks again!

We ran into the exact same issue, Business Central had no way to manage what orders could be picked and what stock we have and so on it handles this side really poorly.

We ended up building our own screen that queries the web services looping through the sales orders and stock every minute and then updates the display, much like you would see in a takeaway. You can click on the orders you are picking and it changes the colour of them so you don't lose where you were. Once they are picked they clear off within a minute. So as orders are picked they clear off and when more stock arrives orders go into the ready to pick.

A few other reporting dashboards and stock exports we did as BC lacks here too. Send me a message if you need a hand as you are probably having the same issues as us!

    Thanks Mary.

I don't know how power Automate works but I can have a look.

I feel strange that Business central has not solution to read a list of Sales Orders which can potentially been shipped.

you could use Power Automate to set up a flow to send a notification to the user when the order is ready

    Thanks replying Marco.

Unfortunately, I am looking for a way to display a page or report which show which sales order could be shipped.

As of today, we are opening each sales order, one by one, and checking the items availability...

This is far from what I call "an efficient method".

    Best regards

    Jerome
