How to set salesperson quota?

Sorry I realise this is a fairly basic question. I've spent a couple of hours searching & reading, but the answer is eluding me. I'm working on CRM-2013 on-premise & I want to set quotas for the sales team.

My understanding of the pre-reqs for this is:

  • Ensure fiscal year settings are completed (they are).
  • Ensure the sales people are assigned to a sales security role (the are).

I can't find where in the UI to set the quotas.

Thanks

DC

    Hello Deise,

Go to Settings>Business Management. You'll see a link for Salespeople with Quotas. From there, you can add quotas to the salespeople.

    Hi,

My Salespeople with Quotas list is empty, unfortunately. The users in the sales team are present on the general users list, just not on this Salespeople with Quotas list. If I click the New button on this list, it appears to be launching the New User window. But presumably there's no point in me doing this, because they are already users.

Do I need to do something to the sales users to make them appear on this list?

    Thanks.

Looks like this feature is depreciated in 2013.

I recommend using Goals for this requirement. Goals are a very powerful yet easy feature. For sales quota tracking you can create goals for Estimated/Actual revenue in a fiscal period, number of products sold, number of new clients, number of activities, etc. – with just a few clicks.

Thanks ... yes it looks like Goals will do what I want.

    Hi Mike,

So, how do you then track closed/won opportunities to these goals?  is that manual?

    Thanks,

    Mark
