Change the storage dimension group

Hi community

How do I change the storage dimension group on an released product from an WMS to non-WMS?

Note: There is zero inventory on hand and we are using standard costing.

I get the following message when trying;

"The settings for the reservation hierarchy do not match the settings for the dimension groups that are assigned to the item. Make sure that the stock dimensions for the reservation hierarchy are physically track for the dimension groups"

Hi Eduan,

Delete its reservation hierarchy and try again.

Thanks for your reply.

I cannot remove the reservation hierarchy, I get the following message;

"You cannot assign a reservation hierarchy to the item because there are stock transactions. You can assign a reservation hierarchy to the item when no stock transactions exist. Otherwise, consider to use the Change reservation hierarchy for items periodic task"

I also tried using the Change reservation hierarchy for items periodic task but you need to select a valid reservation hierarchy and cannot leave it blank.

Hi Eduan,

I do not think so we can change the storage dimension from the product, it is always good to have new item created with correct setup.

Hi Eduan,

We can't undo the reservation hierarchy for an item that has transactions.

So, you may need to create a new item.
