When we created user IDs in Dynamics SL we gave them a generic starting password.
This password is supposed to be changed
Undoubtedly someone will forget their changed password.
How do I reset anyone's password back to the generic password?
I think this should be easy, but I cannot figure it out. Be specific I am just learning this stuff

I have the same question (0)First of all, what version are you running as it makes a difference!
Assuming you are running on V6.5 or earlier, then you can change the password of any user when you are logged in as the system administrator in Dynamics-SL (SYSADMIN). Just pull up the user on the User Maintenance screen (95.260) , pull up the user ID, and update their Password.
If you are on V7.0 and not using integrated windows login, then the process previously described will work.
If you are running on V7.0 and have enabled integrated windows login, then the user will no longer be prompted for a Dynamics-SL password, and authorization inherits from their Windows login.
There are some nuances in V6.X around integrated login to be explored in your documentation. In V7.0, the password itself got tightened up and now has a minimum length and must include 3 of the 4 types of characters (Upper/lower/numeric/character).
Hope this helps.
