Audit Trial for Account Creation

Hey,

I was wondering if there was a way to track who created a new customer card/account?

Almost everything else, like Invoices and credit memos have USER-ID to it which makes it easy to check who created them.

Using Nav 2018.

Thanks.
I have the same question (0)

Unfortunately, there is no such function in NAV2018, unless you use the change log, it cannot be tracked.

PS: In Business Central 2020 release wave 2 and later, Microsoft added Data audit fields to all tables.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

You would need to activate Change Log.
Open Change Log Setup , then go to tables and choose all the tables and fields You would like to monitor. For example customer card - table 18, would need a monitoring on Insert part only Customer No., and Modify/Delete - all the other fields that are important.
Then in the "Change Log Entries" page You can filter out by the Table No. and afterwards by Primary Key values to see who and when inserted or modified records.
This will work only for future modifications and history You cannot get.

additional note is that this table can grow pretty quickly, so keep a track on the size of it and decide on Retention policy (which You can also set up in Business Central), or in NAV version You have a process Delete change Log Entries-  where You can provide filter on date and/or Table No. to delete those records which are not needed anymore (like 1year old entries, or processed document logs etc).
