Large number of customer invoices paid with one payment

We receive one payment from a customer to cover over 500 invoices.  Is there any way of uploading an excel file or configuration package to apply the payment?  Any suggestions would be great.  It currently takes a full hour to post and apply.

    Yes you can use configuration packages to load the entries to the system, you would still have to post them after though. You can also use the Edit in Excel functionality, depending on what functionality you use for applying customer payments.
     
    To use configuration packages, manually create a few of your entries and check what tables you are using (i.e. if you're using cash receipt journal with one line per invoice, you would need table 81) and add these tables to a configuration package.

    It is not so easy to speed up the posting process in your case. 
    Do you use the application method manually or apply to oldest?
    One option could be to set it to apply to oldest if you are sure the customer pays the invoices in the order they are due for payment. That might save you for some time.
