Custom Activity Rights and Roles

Hi All,

I have a custom Activity. I display it inside social pane of Lead entity.

I want to make it visible for all who can see the Lead. I am aware that the rights roles assigned to activity entity will apply to it.

My question is, does this custom activity is visible by default to whoever has access to the lead? Or in other language, does it inherit roles and rights that Lead Owner has?

Hi,

out of box, all activities inherit the privileges specified under the activity in security role. You cannot manage activity permissions based on lead permissions. If you specify organization level permission to activity then the activity will be visible to entire organization.

Thanks Ravi. But then, when a activity is created by somebody else it won't be visible by the Lead user right? I have below access for activity(added screenshot).

Activities will be visible or hidden, it can't be controlled based on the other entity permissions.

Hi,

Access of activity is independent of lead owner. As per your actvity security, only the the owner of the activity can see the recordIf you have the same user as the owner of lead record as well as activity record then it will be visible otherwise not.
