AP Transactions

Posted on by 695

We have a customer that just went live on GP. They are entering AP transactions for some of their credit card statements that require many different distributions to various posting accounts within the organization. They are finding that the transaction entry distribution window does not allow enough line for these transactions. I was not aware that there is a limit to the number of distributions in an AP transaction but can someone please  confirm the limit if there is one  (or the method to add additional lines)? Thank yo ufamily!

I have never heard that there is a distribution lines limit !

Technically speaking, the line distribution sequence number is stored starting from the basis of 16384 and increasing accordingly (multiples of 16384 ) >> 32768 , 49152, 65536 and so on.

I believe they are not aware of the distribution type issue, which could be limiting their entry as a validation check. For instance, if you have a purchases amount of $ 100, the total amount of all "PURCH" type lines in the distribution should equal 100.

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,
