Hi All,

I  have installed GP 2010 , and then i have launched GP utilities and after entering the credentials i got the below error.

    Hi Matt,

    Thanks for the reply.

in my case , i have installed Dynamics GP 2010 SP4(MDGP2010_DVD_withServicePack4_ENUS) on my new server and then ran thr GP utilities and got the error as in above thread.

i have gone through the link which you had given, there it is advised to install any services packs/hotfixes before launching the GP utilities.

But for GP 2010 SP4 there are no any hotfixes available , up to my knowledge.

Can you suggest here on this please.

    Regards,

    Aravind Reddy

    Hi Aravind,

The error log is telling that SQL instance mapped with GP 10 product version. If clearly says, the DB is referring to old version of GP and it cannot be upgraded.

If you are doing fresh GP 2010 installation, while installing make sure the selected SQL server instance do not have DYNAMICS database of older version of GP.

    Hi

Your product version 10.0.1032 from the mobile module 0 (which is the core GP) makes me think that you are in the base installation of GP 10.. which may not be supported according to this list:

    Hi Aravind!

Béat is absolutely correct! The issue is the lowest version of Dynamics GP 10 that you can upgrade from has to be at least 10.00.1368.  You would need to update Dynamics GP to be at least 10.00.1368 to upgrade to Dynamics GP 2010.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions!

    Hi Thomas,

As GP 10 should have minimum 10.00.1368 to upgrade to GP 2010, im created a new environment and installed GP 10.0 + SP3 , here i got the version as Microsoft Dynamics GP  v 10.00.1193 but in my client machine the version is Microsoft Dynamics GP  v 10.00.1301.

Can you please suggest what could be the hot fix installed on top of SP3 to get version 10.00.1301?

    Hi Aravind,

You need to be at least at SP4 on GP10 in order to upgrade to 2010..  The following page list the details for the 10 & 2010 versions:

    community.dynamics.com/.../dynamics-gp-build-numbers-and-service-packs

All you have to apply the SP4 on your server and workstations before you attempt to upgrade to 2010.

    Hi BUCHER,

    Thanks for your reply,

My actual requirement is i need to create a new environment with GP 2010 SP4 and but the i should use the databases from my client GP 10.0 SP3 + some Hotfix environment.

As we dont have the access to client environment to perform directly on client environment i have created an azure environment with Gp 10.0 + Sp3 + HF and then restore the databases taken from Client environment and then i want to perform  the GP 10.0 upgrade to SP4.

As part of this initially i have installed GP 10.0 + Sp3 and here the versions are as follows

    Microsoft Dynamics GP  v 10.00.1193

    Dexterity v 10.0.320.0

    SmartList v 10.00.1165

But in my client environment the versions are as follows:

    Microsoft Dynamics GP  v 10.00.1301

    Dexterity v 10.0.320.0

    SmartList v 10.00.1165

So can yo uplease let me know which hotfix i need to install on my GP 10.0 + SP3 to get the version as in my client environment and then i can restore the databses from my client machine and then i can upgrade it to GP 10.0 SP4.

And then i can upgrade to GP 2010.

So , finally i got the issue to find out the Hotfix that was applied on my client machine on top of Gp 10.0 + Sp3 to get the version number as v 10.00.1301.

Can you please suggest on this?

    Regards,

    Aravind Reddy

The links for the GP 10.0 downloads on Customer / Partner Source  are provided in the last reply I sent..

Here is the direct link for all the SP's of Rel. 10.0:

    [View:https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/northamerica/GP/downloads/service-packs/MDGP10_PreviousPatches#PreviousReleaseDownloads-English:750:50]

I suggest that you install the latest available (Year-End update 2012 includes SP5) for GP 10.0, so you won't have to bother. The SP's are always all-inclusive for GP, which means you should be able to apply SP5 straight onto the base installation of 10.0.1193 or SP3 HF (10.0.1301).

If you don't care about the latest US Payroll update, you can just stick with SP5 released on 2010/8/18 :
