Disable contacts tracking in Dynamics 365 App For Outlook

Hello,

My team is working on implementing the dynamics 365 app for outlook and we have stumbled upon the contacts tracking page

We need to find a way to disable the track/untrack/link functionality found on this page, or just disable this page in general.  Is there a way to do this?  I haven't been able to find a solution anywhere.  Is there a way we can identify when a contact is being created, where the contact is being created from?  I was even thinking if we at least knew the contact was being created from this page, we could write a workflow/plugin to stop the creation

    1. Click the Gear icon in the top right (next to the user's name)
    2. Click 'Manage Add-ins'
    3. In the following screen click 'My Add-ins' on the left.
    4. You'll see 'Dynamics 365' there, click on the [...] icon and select 'Remove'

I am not sure that this will work for contact tracking. But this might help you a bit.

    Hi Paul,

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll find a way to simply stop or disable this.  All users with compatible versions of Outlook and the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook have access to this page for Contact tracking.  Contacts tracked from here will be created using an API call.

I don't know of any way you would be able to distinguish Contacts created from the App for Outlook vs Contacts created normally.  Also, this isn't the only way to create Contacts in App for Outlook, as Users can also create a Contact when tracking an email.

    Tom
