Inventory Discrepancies - On-Hand vs BIN qty

Hi
We are noticing occasional discrepancies on inventory between the on-hand inventory and BIN quantities. In most scenarios, the on-hand inventory shows as having more than what the BIN quantity is. We expect to see both having the same amount.

This isn't happening with all items, it seems to be a subset. An adjustment is usually made to correct it but we are trying to identify how this is occurring.

Thank you,
Justin

Hi, this is a bit strange. It is recommended that you first filter out the problematic items in Item Ledger Entries. This is the quantity of the Inventory.
Then filter the same item in Warehouse Entries, this is the quantity of Bin Qty. Then make a comparison.

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.

    • in theory, this is not possible. but check if the problem item is in bins not accounted for in your bin content filter.
    • agree with zhu to check item ledger entry can compare with qty on hand.
    • don't just adjust item qty without finding out the root cause of the issue.
