    Hi,

Unfortunately data maps are not solution aware.

If you want to perform a data import as part of a solution deployment you might investigate using the package deployment tool in the SDK - this allows you to install a solution and import data in the same process. See msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn688182.aspx

    Hope this helps

    Hi Donny

The import data map you cant find anywhere as component to deploy once you import the solution same as well like duplicate detection and any other things.

But tou can do it using sdk approach.

Or simple way you do export and import the template map since they are xml files.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks

    Hi Aileen,

thanks. So I can only do it with an extra program right ?

@Scott: thanks for your input, I know already about package deployer, but unfortunately, it is not possible to import my data with the data structure I have with the configurationmigration data import.

My Data structure contains recursive link and CRM will only try to match the parent based on the name, but actually it should match the lookup field based on the guid.

    Hi Donny,

Actually - the configuration data importer can match on GUID and in fact does this by default!

You can change which attribute it uses - and also has the advantage that it will update existing data if it already exists.

I use it for all of my deployments of configuration data.

    Hi Donny,

You need to use Tools->Configure Import Settings.

I wrote a post about it while ago - see community.dynamics.com/.../using-the-configuration-data-migration-tool-with-non-unique-display-name-values

It is also very good at automatically wiring up parent/child records - so it queues imports for a second pass update.

    Hope this helps!
