Why the custom solution component(e.g. Entity- Contact) cannot be fined?

Hi All,

I have a custom solution with some Entities (Here is Contact as an example) and other components. When I select Component Type - Entity; View – Customizable and press ‘Add Existing’ button, on the pop out window, I can’t find the ‘Contact’.

Please kindly let me know where did I make mistake? Thanks.

Could it be that the Contact entity is already in your Solution?

When clicking the 'Add Existing' button in the Solution screen, Dynamics 365 automatically hides any component that is already in your Solution.

    Hello,

For any component already in your Solution, you can click the 'Add Subcomponents' button to come back to popup to add additional sub components/assets.

One this to note: It is a recommended best practice that you don't include all assets of a default Entity, like Contact. Once this checkbox is enabled, it's impossible to disable.

Only ever add the components that you are customizing, if there are fields, views, forms, etc. that you aren't customizing (e.g. you are just including it as it comes out-of-the-box) you shouldn't include it in your solution. The target organization (were you'll deploy a Solution) will already have these components.
