I've recently spent a lot of time going through the Engineering Change Management Functionality.
I have created the below Engineering Product Category. the Two Keys settings:
1) Track version in Transactions turned off.
2) Production Type BOM.
When i create a new Engineering Product and use the above Engineering Product Category. as can be seen in the screenshot below, it doesn't produce any versions.
For the engineering Product categories with the same exact setup, with the exception of the 'Track Version in Transactions' being turned on, then versions are maintained.
any reason why this might be?
What i'm trying to achieve.
My client has an engineering company in the UK, which maintains BOMs and versions. The Engineering company will then release the versions to the France Operational Company but the French company does not want to have to select versions at transactional level, or keep stock on hand by version, they only want maintain these products at SKU level and not version. I'm battling to achieve this.
