The accounting period is already closed. Are you sure you want to reopen the inventory period that ends on XX/XX/XX

Hi

I have a strange issue. I have an issue with SN. Then recommended method was to go to Application Worksheet then unapply and then reapply the SN to correct transaction.

But when I try to unapply I received the error saying "You cannot post before XX/XX/XX because the Inventory Period is already closed. You must re-open the period first."

Then I went to Inventory Period and tried to open the inventory period (2020 inventory period). But I got this message "The accounting period is already closed. Are you sure you want to reopen the inventory period that ends on XX/XX/XX" 

My question is can I re-open this period. Then apply this change and then close this period without impacting "accounting period"?

    MahGah,

    This is normal as you are trying to do an Application Post into 2020 and you have closed the year. The Inventory Period needs to be open for such an Action to take place and the User who is doing the Application will need Posting From and To access to the period it is applying too.

    Reopening a period also reopens all inventory periods with ending dates later than the period you reopen.

    After you make your Application fix, you will need to close all the Inventory Period from the Period you changed to today.
