Editable Grids Lookup Field Custom Filter

Hello guys,

Lately I've been exploring Dynamics 365's new feature, Editable Grids.
On normal form, it is possible to add custom filter to a lookup field using Javascript fetchXml (addPreSearch, addCustomFilter). Is it possible to add custom filter on editable grids lookup cell using the same method? I've searched everywhere but I don't see any clue about this. Microsoft's documentation also doesn't state anything (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt788311.aspx). Any help or clue will be appreciated.

P.S.: Sorry if this post turned out to be in the wrong place.

Thank you.

RE: Editable Grids Lookup Field Custom Filter

Hi Hasibur Rahman, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that's not what I'm looking for. I'm trying to filter a lookup field in an editable grid, specifically editable sub-grid. Not filtering a lookup field on a form based on a field on a subgrid on the form.

Hi Carol, thanks for the reply. I have discovered that feature before, but unfortunately the filter feature described there isn't powerful enough for what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to filter a lookup field in an editable sub-grid based on a value of an attribute on the main form. In my case, I have Purchase Order entity with Purchase Order Line editable subgrid. I want to filter the Product lookup field on the editable subgrid based on a value of an attribute on the Purchase Order form. Traditionally this can be done using addCustomFilter and addPreSearch Javascript method. However I cannot find that method anywhere when I explored the Javascript methods through browser console.

If the field on the main form has a few fields, like an option list. I would micmic the field on the subgrid, or create a bridge entity. Then create filtered views based on the main form field selection. Create a few subgrids based on the main form selection, choose to show or hide them using business rules based on the main form field selection. Then also use the filtered lookup inside the subgrid for fine tuning the data selection. Not 100 percent on the relationships the entity,,, but this is one direction.
