Ribbon Workbench - RUN DIALOG Smart button In D365

Hi,

I've written a dialog and want to run the same Dialog by clicking on "Run Dialog" button added from Ribbon Workbench to Contact entity.

The Dialog seems to be working properly if i start from "Start Dialog" button available out of the box in the Ribbon but the same Dialog doesn't seem to be working when i Click on "Run Dialog".

Can anyone suggest!

Take a look at the following two articles on the develop1 site:

    ribbonworkbench.uservoice.com/.../140652-create-a-dialog-short-cut-ribbon-button

    ribbonworkbench.uservoice.com/.../896958-smart-buttons

Following this logic in the articles should help you out.

I would go with the second approach since you are running Dynamics 365. Download the smart button solution and following the instructions by Scott.

I've already downloaded and also added the Run Dialog Button to the Contact entity and when i'm clicking the Run Dialog button it is not working.

As mentioned earlier "I've written a dialog and want to run the same Dialog by clicking on "Run Dialog" button".

I have the same problem with running dialog with smart buttons. But I don't understand this? Where is that source code and how to copy source code into the solution?

Sorry for my ignorance, I'm a begginer with CRM.

    Hi Marina,

    please go through the Link

    https://github.com/scottdurow/RibbonWorkbench/releases

    Smart-Button-Pic.PNG

From the Smart Buttons download these below ZIP files.

    1) Develop1SmartButtons_1_2_88_1.zip

    2)Source code (zip)

First we have to Extract the source code (Zip) and we will get the RibbonWorkbench-SmartButtons.v1.2.88.1,  from that copy the Develop1SmartButtons.

Next we have to Right click on Develop1SmartButtons_1_2_88_1.zip which we have downloaded and click on Open , now we have to paste Develop1SmartButtons into the solution of Develop1SmartButtons_1_2_88_1.zip  and same we have to import Solution on the CRM instance .

if its working please mark as answered.

    Regards,

    Krishna.

Can we make any modification regarding the way the Dialog Opens? As is the dialog opens in a new window. Can i change to open as pop up window?

    Hi George,

Using the smart button all the times the Dialog will open in new window , we cant open as a pop up window for the Dialog which we are using for the Smart button.

    Regards,

    Krishna.
