Hi:

Other than through Power BI or query development, is there a report in Business Central that shows inventory valuation by Inventory Posting Group and exports to Excel and displays Inventory Posting Group in a column?

Hi, This should be achievable using the standard report below.
You can filter the Inventory Posting Group multiple times and then export the results.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

You need to use report "Invrntory Valuation" it is a standard report which can gives data of Inventory valuation by Inventory posting group.

You can also generate the report dsta in excel by seelecting send to option in the request page and select Excel format to download report data in excel.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Dhiren.

    Hello John,

Short answer: no, there is no standard report in Business Central that shows Inventory Valuation grouped by Inventory Posting Group with the Posting Group as a column and also cleanly exports to Excel. The standard Inventory Valuation and Inventory Valuation – WIP reports group mainly by item/location and do not expose Inventory Posting Group as a report column. To get that exact layout, your options are Power BI, a query/report customization, or Excel via OData (Items joined to Value Entries). There’s no hidden out-of-the-box report that does this.

If You want to see the overall amounts, it should be the same value that You see from Chart of Accounts balance at date field.
If You want to see details, then only running the Inventory Valuation report several times, by putting each Posting group as filter on each run.
