Ingenico i6550 Installation and Programming Versions

Anyone with successful installations of the Ingenico i6550 with RMS be willing to post what OS version they have the Ingenico i6550 programmed with? And what version of OPOS drivers are being used.

I have had horrible experiences with the Ingenico i6550 devices working with RMS. They are very unstable, and contantly causing problems with the point of sale. It is embarrassing when trying to troubleshoot these devices when customers are at the check out ready to purchase their items. At this point, I am very anti-Ingenico with the RMS product.

Thanks,

    Nope

I have been having the same problems as you for years and decided never to sell them again.  Maybe the new devices will work better.  It always seem to be a communication issue.

Also never use the usb version.

Well I guess it's kind of satisfying to know I'm not alone. And yes Ed, definitely always use Serial Com Ports for these devices, already been there, done that. I did recently read an article that RMS is now supporting the Verifone mx860. If anyone has any feedback on using these Verifone devices with RMS, your input would be very appreciated.

    Andy,

We do whatever we can to avoid this.  Even if you get the integration up and running, its crap.  You could check in with the guys over at System Solutions (www.syssolutionsllc.com) as they have some add-ins specifically for working with the Ingenico untils and RMS.  They will likely be able to help you (provided they are still supporting the now end-of-life Ingenico models).

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have tested the SysSolutions add-on in the past, and their support team was very responsive and easy to work with. I just might have to re-visit SysSolutions.

We never had much luck with them either and Ingenico support was no help either.

Using the MagTek iPAD with Mercury RRMPS is working good though, finally!

I am planning to use signature capture with RMS 2.0. MagTek iPAD with Mercury is compatible with RMS 2.0 with FP2...? Any suggestion greatly appreciated.

Ingenico devices caused hell on Earth for me for maybe a year. I gave up and moved to PayPros SecurePlus (written for them by Newestech) with Magtek Ipads. Works like a charm and does much more than anything else I found.

Another thing to think about, they've been discontinued by Ingenico.  Good riddance!!!
