Hi all,
We have a client who is currently using Microsoft and Office 365 and authenticates in Business Central using their Azure AD. The client is looking to move to a different 3rd party Authentication service example GSuite from Google. Would it be possible to authenticate (i.e. log in) to Business Central using another authentication service such as GSuite? If yes, how would one go about it to set it up?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
Are you using onprem or cloud?
Cloud: the answer is no, you can't.
Onprem: The latest versions of BC uses OpenID for authentication. So I would say it is not impossible. But maybe I'm wrong. I would like to hear back from you if you try something.
On another note, I'm curious about the context of your query. Why would a customer make this choice/decision? Can you give more details?
No, you can not move to GSuite. The licensing and authentication for Business Central online is going through AzureAD.
To run Business Central online you need to have a Azure AD so it does not really make sense for those companies to move to some other kind of Oauth provider.
