This url i am opening in new window on click on some button.

https://abc.crm.dynamics.com/main.aspx?etn=phonecall&pagetype=entityrecord&extraqs=ivparameters_0=executiveid=123&executivename="John Brown"&entitytype="contact"&navbar=off#819056556

New window open with phonecall form opens with details filled which were passed in url, like executivename.

Now if the change the top dropdown from "Phone CALL" to "Phone call for interactive experience", the call to field is not getting populated, it is empty. How to solve this ?

    Hello Dinseh,

this is default behavior with all forms. If you open a form to create a new record and you want to switch the form without saving the changes first you will always loose the pre-populated or self-set data.

So either you save the record first and then change the form type or you make the interactive experience form for phonecalls your main form that opens first in general.

Hi Andreas, thanks for the input. it worked when i saved and changed the form.

I have a onload script for the forms. So on initial load, Xrm.Page.context.getQueryStringParameters().ivparameters_0 is returning the values, but without saving and if i change the form, it is not is not giving the results. So QueryStringParameters will not be passed to other form?

By default, Microsoft Dynamics 365 allows a specified set of query string parameters to be passed to a form. You can use these parameters to set default values when you create a new record in the application.

    Refer this:

Correct, if you change the form the querystringparameters will not get passed over. Also a pop up will ask you first if you want to save the form first before leaving /switching the form.
