Create Purchase Order from Sales Order - Non inventory Item and Direct Putaway Location

Hi,

Since upgrading to V25 we are encountering an issue when we try to create a purchase order directly from a sales order when the sales order contains at least 1 non inventory item. To create the purchase order we use the standard function of Actions > Functions > Create Purchase Document > Create Purchase Orders as per below.

We are using an advanced warehouse configuration and are now receiving the following error every time when a non inventory item is on the sales order.

"You cannot create purchase orders for items that are set up for directed put-away and pick. You can activate and select reserve field from personalisation in order to finish this task."

I think this is potentially a bug as a large amount of people may use items such as delivery charges as non inventory which will then obviously cause this error to occur.

Any pointers really appreciated, as this has just surfaced in the late stages of go live testing.

    Hi,

Did you check the warehouse setup to see if the issue is resolved? If not, I recommend having your partner raise a ticket with Microsoft for further assistance. I haven't encountered this issue in my demo environment.

    Thanks
    Ramesh

Thank you for your reply Ramesh, although not I am sure that there is anything to check as the location is still configured the same way as it was prior to the upgrade to V25?

I did a quick test and didn't encounter the problem you mentioned. Is the location setting different from yours?
    My Version: W1 25.4 (Platform 25.2.30960.0 + Application 25.4.29661.31031)

    Thanks.

I don't believe it has anything to do with the Item being Inventory or Non-Inventory, it is just for the Location and if the Location is setup as Directed Put-Away and Pick and if the Reserve is false that condition was added, if you select Reserve in the Screen, do you get that error ?

Thank you ZHU, for you usual detailed response.

I have reviewed this against our configuration and the only difference is that we currently using the put-away worksheet

I have just upgraded the sandbox to Version: GB Business Central 25.4 (Platform 25.2.30782.0 + Application 25.4.29661.30648)
    the latest I have available.

This seems to have fixed the issue 👍
