Splitting WMS work by license plate ID without relying on unit conversions

Hi everyone,

I’ve been struggling with a recurring issue related to my WMS setup in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management.

My goal is to have the system automatically generate work split by license plate ID — for example, when processing raw material picking for production, I would like each license plate to trigger a separate work ID.

I’m aware that this can be achieved by configuring unit conversions on the item (e.g. 1 PL = 100 EA), but I’m considering a scenario where such unit conversions are not available or cannot be consistently maintained.

Has anyone successfully configured this kind of behavior, where work is always split by license plate regardless of unit conversions? I’d appreciate any insights or guidance.

Thanks in advance!

I do not have a good answer for this. It's probably only possible in standard if you ensure that your items are stored one License plate per location.

If you cannot do this, you have the option to manually split the Work during picking by using the Full button. Check out Allow splitting of work here. I assume it works for raw material picking; I've only tried it in relation to Sales and Transfer order picking.
