Hello,

I have a requirement where I have to create a n:n relationship between member and client. I have establish the relationship by manual creation via an intersect entity called as member client association entity on which member and client is having a 1:n relationship with it.  Now I am not able to pull the related records on the member form from the member -client association entity. Please help me in this?

    Hi Shabnam

    Custom Intersect Entities gives you in general much more flexibility to implement your relationships and the custom logic behind it. However the Limitations to show a related view because you would have to show a view of the intersect entity and not a view of the related record type so things like sorting by fields of the related record type is not possible when using interest entity approach. You will also Lose the “Add Existing” button that you get with native N:N relationships

    However the Benefits of the approach are;

    •Able to register workflows because workflows can trigger on Create of any entity.

    •Workflows will also have the ability to access fields from both sides of the relationship since each side is considered a “parent” entity of the intersect entity and you can always access parent entities and their fields from the workflow designer.

    •This approach would also allow you to easily build queries and reports of your relationships.

    •This approach gives you in general much more flexibility to implement your relationships and the custom logic behind it.

    The alternative approach is using Native N:N

    Best Wishes, Raz
