Credit Card terminal Failure

I have been having alot of trouble with my credit card terminals. They are verifone vx570 models and I have connected both via ethernet cord to my modem. they are both going very slow and they sometimes give me a "could not open connection" message, and then it tries the transaction via phone line. I have called my internet service provider and they replaced the modem and stayed with me all day to figure out what the problem is. The credit card company says that port 443 has to be open, and it is. But still i get a ssl2.vitalps.net:443 connection failure. I ran ping tests on the terminals and they come pack fast. I have no idea what to do.

    these terminals are not supported by this forum.  Please call your processor or the business from where you bought the terminals.
