Hi All,
is it possible to reverse a transaction(general ledger entries -->reverse transaction) on different date other than the original posting date in business central ?
Thanks

Thanks ZHU
In Standard system is not possible but yes can achieve it by customization, so that during reversal it should not take original posting data instead current date.
If you would like to reverse a transaction with a different posting date then you can use the Posted General Journals Page and the Copy Selected Lines to Journal or Copy G/L Register to Journal function:
This copies posted journal lines to a Journal and when the lines are copied you can selected to replace the posting date
It's not as quick as using the Reverse Transaction function but it does achieve what you're looking for with a few more mouse clicks. If your Posted General Journals Page is empty ensure the function is first turned on in the General Journal Templates Page:
As Jo mentioned, there is no way to do it using this standard reverse feature.
But you can manually create negative entries in the General Journal to reverse them, so you can specify the date.
But please note that this will result in inaccurate balances for a given day.
To post a negative entry:
Hope this helps as well.
Thanks.

Hi Ashok,
No it is not possible to reverse a transaction on a different date in BC.
You may be thinking of entering Accrued Expenses and Reversing them the next month? For that you could setup some Recurring Journal Lines to both enter the accrual on one date and the reversal on the next month date.
But you can't reverse with a different posting date. I think this is by design, because you would not really want it to reverse on a different day unless this is for an accrual type entry.
