Hi,

I want to create new form in GP and add fields to capture serial number by using scanner.  When I scan it display the serial number in the filed. But I want to move the cursor down to next line automatically to scan next serial number.  Now user has to press enter key or tab key but I we can automated this movement of cursor.

Just about every scanner I've used has a programming mode where you can do things like add tabs after scan or new line characters for this exact purpose.

You need to get scanner manual, usually there will be a book full of special bar codes you can use to program it with.

Once you've changed the mode, it will "fake" the pressing of the tab key/return key for you after each scan.

    Tim.

    Hi,

Thanks for reply.  If I use same scanner on excel sheet it goes to next cell down automatically after scanning.  But it is not happening in GP cells or fields

Excel goes down for return key and across for tab key.

If you want to tackle this from GP, go to user preferences in GP, have you got it set to Return radio button rather than Tab?
