A question about Select BOM Version

Hi All,

I'm writing to get your support to tell me the meaning of Select BOM Version in BOM Version form. I confused why need to Select a version of BOM. If I do 'Select’, which thing will work or occur. 

Multiple BOM versions can be selected at the same time?

The following is my operating steps.

1) Go to BOM Designer

2) Go to BOM version

3) Select a BOM version or not

It seems that I can't select the two BOM versions at the same time.

    In AX or D365 a Bom ( or Formula ) is a list of products to be consumed.

    A Bom Version is the link between a product and a formula.

    So, a product can have multiple boms and therefore formula versions active at the same time. However only one will be used depending on quantity, manufacturing site, dates

    Yes, in my example, when the quantity is larger than 20, the second bom version is supposed to work automatically.  Then, when shall we need to click the operation button of  'Select'.

    I checked myself and the Select function is the way to "select" which bom version ( and bom) to be visualized on the bom designer.

    As you can have multiple boms  , the system has to show you one of those available

    With the selection you force the selection of the one to be visualised on the designer ( irrespective) of the active bom versions.

    As you said, the selected BOM verion will be appeared in BOM designer form.

    Do you think there are anyone else usage for this selection?

    Nop.

    Activation drives the bom selection in the MRP system.
