Outlook emails - Pending then Failed

Hi All,

I'm currently trying to track emails however over the last month i have noticed many emails pending and then changed to a status of Failed a few hours later.

Firstly - Is there an advanced find/ workflow i could create to list the emails which have a status of failed or showing as pending? I want to check i have not missed any out.

Secondly - Is there a way i can create alerts for when an email is pending? This way i can monitor the problem?

Thirdly - Does anyone know how to stop them from pending/failed or the reason why this would happen?

Many thanks in advance

Kerry

    Hi Kerry CRM,

If your workflow is stuck in a state of Pending Send, it means that your workflow has successfully generated the email, but further changes to your email configuration are required to send emails automatically.

    Hi,

    1) You can do an advance find for Email Message and use filter "Status Reason In "Pending Send or Failed".

    2) I don't think there is any way to get a notification if the status is pending send but you could write a workflow on email status change and send notification email to you saying this email has failed. The opther option is create a view with the above advance find query an monitor it.

    Hope this helps.

You can do Adv. find filtering for failed/pending send & keep the view in Dashboard for Manual monitoring. Even server side sync has dedicated dashboard about status.

Since it’s online we cannot schedule some sql job in timely fashion to monitor the count of increasing pending send or failed emails & alert us. But we can do some console app & configure in Task scheduler from Azure box to alert us if count increases beyond threshold.

EWS tools may be available online for monitoring but not sure.
