Business Central v16 still loading slow?

After upgrading last week from saas version 15 to 16 there were promises of improved caching and speed improvements.

Initially it seemed a bit better but it has be awfully slow again this week (UK) is anyone else experiencing the same?

Any tips/hints on browsers that run better - or is it all pretty much the same experience? tried on both a connection of around 7mbps and 40mbps and getting the same results?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

in general, I can recommend reading and check our "Performance Tips for Business Users"

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/dev-itpro/performance/performance-users

If you are still not satisfied with the performance, please collect time and date and specific actions which takes longer and contact your cloud solution provider in order to have this problem investigated in relationship with Microsoft support.

Hi Archer i tried the default data in my sandbox and that seemed to load quicker, however i then tried my production version and that was about the same.

The difference was i was using Google Chrome i had been previously using Microsoft Edge (as that is coined as a lot quicker)

I'm not sure how accurate my tests are but switching between the home screen and sales order list back and forth in Edge it loads between 5-6 seconds and in Chrome it loads in 2-3 seconds.

I think i will give Google Chrome a try for the next few days and see how i get on with that as it seems to load the pages in about half the time?

the usage of the "right" browser is for sure an important thing, sadly. btw edge uses now the chrome engine.

as suggested by other users please contact your csp (bc partner), if you are not the csp yourselve. :-) also contact your net provider (telecom, etc.) to test your net speed connection. maybe you need a better infradtructure.

also check firewall and antivirus settings. some antvirus systems can lower the speed dramatically.

Well for me it seems switching from Edge to Chrome solved it for me. Not sure this is a solution across the board but certainly a noticeable improvement. The Windows 10 desktop app loads about the same as Edge (but I guess this is the same thing really?). It seems Chrome is handling and optimising the cache better than Edge to save loading all of the content every time.

I don't think it is down to the internet provider as other sites load fine. The issue seems to be down to Microsoft delivering the content to my browser.

On Sebastian's link all of these points make sense trying to limit load does make sense, things like the business manager screen are making a huge amount of queries (most not needed) that could be removed/optimised.

But overall testing a couple of different browsers is the easiest fix for me as using in Chrome in the past hour or so it is noticeably better and Edge is still over 2x slower for me.

After looking into this in more depth with the Microsoft engineers it turned out that I was exhausting my allocated recourses within my environment (you almost have your own virtual allocation and too many things happening will limit that)

We had web queries set up that were running too often from our warehouse and B2B website. So we have cut these back a bit and seems to have improved the overall performance.

So that along with using Google Chrome seemed to be the solution for me.
