Sales Visit Reports

I run a CRM 4 system with approximately 50 users.  A central part of our sales process is to write Sales Visit Reports after meetings with potential customers.  I am struggling to find a way to record this information in the CRM that the users are comfortable with.

Our Sales Visit Reports include information such as why we saw them, who was seen, what was said, what the actions are

Does anyone have any ideas.

    Hi Michael,

Have you considered creating a custom entity for Sales Visits?  This way you can associate the Appointment with it and put all of the notes there.   I've seen companies that will actually use the activities related to the Sales Visit to schedule follow-up tasks after the visit and check to ensure they were done.

    One idea!

    Michael,

We have a phone application that allows the sales person to quickly answer questions (picklist, fill in the blank) following a sales visit. This information is then recorded in CRM as custom entity and then associated with the Account. They can usually fill in the information and submit it in less time then it takes to pull out of the client's parking lot.

Many thanks for the ideas, we did have a Custom Entity for a Sales Visit Report set up by the company that originally configured the CRM but it did not work, I think because for some reason it was set up as an Appointment.  We kept sending retrospective invitations to meetings we wrote up.  Caused a bit of embarrassment.  I think I will try again now I know it can work.

    Michael,

I agree on the issue you have with appointments. I have seen cases where the CRM user put notes into the appointment record that should not have been seen by the client, but didn't realize that they would be included in the appointment invite.

A custom entity would be much better for the visit report.
