Is Analysis mode no longer available in Business Central. I am on the latest release v23 but even the permission for table 9640 which allows it is no longer available.

How is Analysis mode now enabled?

Documentation is not about the object.

It is about System Permission Set

Hi

It is now enabled by default.

The information tells you that through these permissions you can disable the functionality

Hi Both

Thanks for your input. I had added the permission set 'Data Analysis - Exec' to my profile before logging this request. It made no difference; hence why I included a screenshot of the the table ID 9640 as the permission set simply includes this table anyway. But the table is not found and hence adding the permission made no difference.

It's a brand new tenant (no configs or customisations at all) that the issue is occurring on so wondering if that may be a factor.

I might be pointing out something obvious but did you log out and log back in BC so the new permission set take effect?

Hi, hope the following helps.

Business Central 2023 wave 2 (BC23): Turn off data analysis mode on pages and queries (AnalysisModeEnabled Property and Allow Data Analysis Mode permission)

In addition, the chart function announced in BC TechDays 2022 has not yet been released, and I think Microsoft will not deprecate this function.

Just to clarify again:

it is not TABLE object 9640.

it is System object 9640.

The data analysis mode feature was introduced as a public preview feature in 2023 release wave 1 as a new way of interacting with data on list pages and it was available on all list pages.

For some list pages this capability doesn't make much sense. Therefore, you can turn off the data analysis mode by the following ways:

AL developers can turn off the data analysis mode using page object metadata.

Administrators can turn off the data analysis mode for specific users with a new system permission DATA ANALYSIS.

Thanks for all your inputs on this but I'm still having problems. As Mohana pointed out 9640 is a system object and the permission set 'Data Analysis - Exec' is designed to provide access to that. I did test by creating a separate permission set anyway that granted access to system object 9640 but same outcome.

In any case, I'm beginning to think that GDAP (Granular delegated admin priveleges) is playing a part or perhaps an O365 security profile as I cannot seem to find any other possible reason why Analysis mode is not available on a brand new tenant.
