Hello.

I am trying to install POS to my computer.

My vendor sent me 4 file including rms2.0 and upgrade 1 to 4.

System is working until I install RMS2.0 and Fp1 and SP4.

When I install FP2, system gives me active x error and I can't use the software.

I am using window 7 professional 64 bits computer.

Please advice!

Thank you in advance.

    Hi Alex,

Which OPOS drivers are you using? Is it Epson.

If you have OPOS drivers installed, uninstall it and re- install the RMS and check.

    Hello.

    Thank you for reply.

I did not install anything after I format the computer.

    Only program installed is RMS2.0 --> FP1--> SP4.

    Hi Alex,

We are on windows 7, 64 Bit but never faced  this issue. We know that some drivers can cause this. The same error appeared when I installed Epson Opos 2.70 or NEC Pole display driver. So i figure out some shared DLL files have been modified. But after uninstalling RMS  and re-installing fix this issue.

There are several fixes on this. Most of it fixed after re-installing.

You may try following KB article if the issue is not fix.

Reconfigure you Store op admin. Specify correct location for paths, templates and registers.

If the activex error is #429 then it has to do with opos dll files not being reigstered correctly or overwritten by other drivers.  I have seen happen without other opos drivers installed after FP2 installation.

    you can try the following.

You basically have to re-register all the opos ocx files in c:\windows\syswow64.

    example:   c:\windows\syswow64\regsvr32.exe c:\windows\syswow64\oposPOSPrinter.ocx

There should be ten opos ocx files.

I would also run ccleaner and fix any registry issues that are found.

what do you mean exactly by this?

I'm having this same problem, no OPOS drivers, no equipment installed, this is just for manager to run reports, but if I have to get into the SOAdmin, I get this error,

    Run-time error '429:

    ActiveX component can't create object.

this only happens after FP2 is installed. there is not a single third part program on this box. have uninstalled it and reinstalled multiple times. this is odd cause some windows 7 boxes don't have this option. but any windows 7 I install now, always without fail does not work I have to set the DB before FP2 gets installed.

was hoping there was a windows hot fix I could point to, but so far, nothing.

OK. try registering capicom.dll from RMS installation folder using regsvr32 or try install SP4 once again. (Just run the exe again and complete the installation process)
