Unable to change quantity of sales order line item of a made to order item with manufacturing order linked.

Hello,

Any new users that we setup in the system are unable to modify the quantity of a sales order line item for any item that is configured/manufactured with a manufacturing order linked to it. 

Existing users do not have this issue and we are assigning the same roles to new users. 

We are thinking there must be something different with security.  Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

    Also, any new user that is created, regardless of security roles select, including Power User, cannot change qtys.

    Ahh....one of the most obscure setup windows in GP comes into play here!

    Check under the Additional tab on Sales Order Processing Setup (Tools | Setup | Sales) for the Manufacturing Series Sales Order Prefs window.

    You need to create a Process Security set and assign it to the field for "Edit SO QTY's when MO is attached Process Security" field.   Process Security sets can be created under Manufacturing System Defaults Setup.

    This is an additional layer of security for MFG that does not apply to standard GP security.
