Can you post a link for enhancement requests Jonathan? Thank you!

The reporting tool is one of the major weaknesses imho with Great Plains.

Rich have you thought about putting in a product request so the correct people are looking at this?

When is Microsoft going to make inserting a line of text easier? I'm sorry, it should take seconds, not hours to do this. Its a joke imho.

Looks like someone added these format types to your report dictionary. You will need to look in your old dictionary to see how they were defined and then recreate in your new dictionary before you import your package.

    Thanks Richard,

I just curious, but I have redo in a new and empty Report.dic the report POP Purchase Order Blank Form... and export it in a package to import it in another Report.dic and this is full of reports... so first I delete the POP Purchase Order Blank in it and  when I import the package GP list me 1 error Unable to resolve reference to format ‘DLR_RBS0_STR’ by Report ‘POP Purchase Order Blank Form'  and 11 Errors : Unable to resolve reference to format ‘ALIGN_RIGHT’ by Report ‘POP Purchase Order Blank Form’

I have compare the old report and the new and nothing is missing or wrong ? and if I do the same importation but in a empty Report.dic, GP doesn't gave me any importation error ?

I will try to find different PO to compare reports (old and new) to confirm the report is OK

Just remember to keep your image at 300dpi or less. When you go into RW just click the image button and then when you drop it onto the report it will allow you to browse to the location of the image.

Re: a issue with Report Write (We have GP 9)

    Hi Richard,

Yes from the beginning  I'm working with a new report.dic (local) created by GP when I modified the Dynamics.set path... and yes the ressources->string add any text that I created  or modified

    I did it again:

I delete the file report.dic to be sure this time

I get back in Report writer and select and insert the report  from the Original Reports list to modified Reports list that was empty (like last time)

    and it's working find now

I presume at the end I just have to export this new report and import it back in the old report.dic (After a delete the strange one from the old report.dic),

Now I have to understand how to put picture back in the report (read read read)

Thanks & have a nice day all

    Alain

    Strange, Yes!

First, are you working on a local copy of the reports dictionary? If not, please make sure you are. You should never be working on a reports dictionary while it is in use by others. Othwerwise corruption may occur.

Second, start completely over. By this I mean point to a local reports dictionary and then delete that reports dictionary. This way a fresh REPORTS.DIC will be created and you will know you are not bringing any previously existing problems over.

Third, if you go into Report Writer and click on Resources->Strings, do you see the STRING label as one of the listed strings? If not, your dictionary is definately corrupt and starting over will correct this.

I can confirm somethings else, if I just add or delete just one letter in a static text that was working in the report this text will appear in the print out with Not Found, and will comeback if I type  back the original text

    strange no?
