Hello People,

I'm using the D365 Business Central UK version. Can anyone please explain the subcontracting process? How to perform the subcontracting process, setups, and how to create a subcontracting Invoice?

Thanks & Regards

    Hi Revan,

Could you perhaps elaborate on what you like to achieve with the subcontracting? Do you mean subcontracting manufacturing or assembly processes or is this service based subcontracting?

For manufacturing here is a reference  - docs.microsoft.com/.../production-how-to-subcontract-manufacturing

    Hope that helps :)

    Regards,

    Martin

    Hi Martin,

Thank you for the prompt response.

I want to perform subcontracting in Manufacturing. The link which you have shared has helped me a lot.

But, I need some clarifications on charges. Can I add charges in the purchase order that is created via the subcontracting worksheet?

    Thanks & Regards,

    Revan

    Revan,

Happy New Year. I will give a brief overview and then use the attachment for additional help (its manual on Subcontracting process).

    Subcontracting:

In Manufacturing you can define a Routing Line to point to a Work Center that is defined as a Vendor (Subcontractor). When an Item, who uses the Routing, is in demand, you will utilize the Subcontracting Worksheet to generate Purchase Orders. When you post a Subcontracting PO, BC will automatically posts the necessary information to the Production Order.

The above is a high-level overview but use the attached to walk through the process. It is very simple. If you have more questions, feel free to write back.

    Thanks,

    Steve

This is exactly I am doing nowadays

I have another question, can we have a subcontractor location within prod. order, so we send the goods to subcontractor and get back.
