Is it possible to add a button to this toolbar in the "All Solutions" View with Ribbon Workbench? I've heard that it's not possible but maybe there's a workaround ...

Hello,
I am not quit sure about it but a solution is also considered an entity in CRM Dynamics, so try to create new solution in whish you add the solution entity. After that open ribbon workbench and choose that solution, and see if it will give you the hand to add your button on the "All Solutions" View.
You can add a button to the solutions entity, which will appear for all views in Solutions.
Create a new solution and add the solution entity to it (only metadata, no components needed).
Download Ribbon Workbench: www.develop1.net/.../ribbonworkbench.aspx
or use it from within XRMToolbox. Run ribbon Workbench and select your solution.
Add the button that you need to the command bar and publish your customizations.
You will notice that when you download and install Ribbon Workbench, the button will already be there.
Hope this helps.
Hello Kabarousse, thank you for the fast answer. I've tried your approach but the Ribbon Workbench throws an error when you try to open the solution: "There were no entities in the solution selected. Add at least one entitiy and try again".
It looks like the Workbench can not recognize the "Solution" Entity ...
Hi,
if so maybe as you said that "Solution Entity" can not be recognized by Ribbon Worbench :)
Hello Aric, have you tried this before? As I mentioned earlier I tried this approach but the workbench does not recognize the entitiy "Solution" ...
It is in the Application Ribbons.
In your solution, go to Client Extensions, and select Application Ribbons. Add the Application Ribbon to your solution. Open Ribbon Workbench, and in the Home Command bar, navigate to the area that says: Mscrm.BasicHomeTab. Add a button and add a command to the button.
Add a display rule with a Page rule that will specify the address of the solutions page: "/tools/Solution/home_solution.aspx". You can add different type of logic. In your command specify an action that will perform the tasks that you need.
It worked. I am yet to find out how to get the Button in line with the others but you were totally right.
Thank you Aric!
Hi ,
Your understanding is correct ,you can not add any button in the solution toolbar. However in the top ribbon you can add button by customizing Application Ribbon which you found from client extension as suggested by Aric above.
