Is there a way to close out of a record and go back to the previous screen?

I've been testing the unified interface for our upcoming transition and finding this to be an issue our users are really not going to like.  Is there a way to back to the previous screen when closing out of a record?  For example if I create a quote and go to add a product, it opens a new screen.  But say, for example, I changed my mind about adding another product so I want to go back to the quote.  There is no X in the corner of the record to go back to the screen I was previously on.... why did Microsoft make that change?  It seems like a huge step back.  Not user friendly at all.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

We are bringing back Save and Save & Close button as part of the 2020 Release Wave 1.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform-release-plan/2020wave1/microsoft-powerapps/save-always-visible-command-bar-edit-form

Would that help? Or can you elaborate on the specific scenario you are trying to achieve, when compared to the legacy web client experience?

I can see that we already have access to the Save and Save & Close buttons in my test application in the Unified Interface.  I am referring the the "X" in the corner of the record.  If I don't want to save it or I want to get out of a record, I want to be able to click the X.  Currently in the web client, we have this ability.  I don't see this as a function in the unified interface and this will be an issue for our users.

That's the first time I hear that specific feedback on the Unified Interface UX.

If "Save & Close" doesn't help, I suggest that you submit an idea for additional UI capabilities here: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Apps-Ideas/idb-p/PowerAppsIdeas

I'm not sure I understand why that functionality no longer exists.  It was a nice feature that our users are always utilizing for closing out of records.  The ability to go back to the previous screen is something we do a lot of in our business.  Without being able to go back to the previous screen, we are adding more and more steps for our users.

I found something similar on this community.

Personally I have a mouse that has browser back/forward buttons so always use that but you can always click on the Opportunity lookup on Quote to go back to the Opportunity for example.

Our users often want the assurance that they *did not* alter a record. They *hated* autosave (we always turned it off immediately) and the "X" button in the upper-right gave them that assurance that they didn't alter the record. Almost none of them have five-button mice, and after years of *Microsoft* training them not to use the "back" button (thanks ASP), they think that will break the application (even though it won't). They need the ability to "back out" of a record. If they navigated from an opportunity to a quote, clicking on the opportunity lookup to navigate "back," even though it's logically correct, feels like they are going forward, not back.

I understand that the "X" is a desktop metaphor that doesn't translate well to other paradigms, but in government service, it's important to have confidence that changes to records are not made.
